Functional Analyst
Mission.
Key Responsibilities
Business and Functional Analysis
- Analyze and translate business requirements into structured functional IT solutions
- Ensure alignment with IT standards, architecture principles, and business objectives
- Maintain a strong functional and business-oriented approach throughout the solution lifecycle
- Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure the delivered solution meets operational needs
Solution Design and Technical Coordination
- Support the translation of functional analysis into technical design specifications
- Coordinate with technical designers and developers during implementation phases
- Contribute to ensuring consistency between functional and technical solutions
- Work within a multi-layer application environment involving various technologies
Testing and Quality Assurance
- Prepare and execute functional integration test cases based on requirements
- Validate solutions before delivery to end users
- Analyze defects and identify corrective actions and improvements
- Contribute to ensuring overall solution quality and reliability
Project Support and Delivery Coordination
- Support project leaders during implementation activities
- Report on progress, risks, and issues to management and project stakeholders
- Ensure smooth coordination between Business, IT, and project teams
- Contribute to successful project delivery within scope and timelines
Continuous Improvement and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Participate actively in improving analysis and delivery practices
- Maintain strong communication with business stakeholders and technical teams
- Contribute to a collaborative and customer-oriented working environment
Required profile.
Required Expertise – IT Functional Analyst
- Functional analysis and business requirement translation (Advanced, current experience)
- Functional and integration testing (Advanced, current experience)
- Stakeholder collaboration in large organizations (Advanced, current experience)
- Coordination between Business and IT teams (Advanced, current experience)
- Insurance domain knowledge (Non-Life) (Advanced, current experience)
Required Knowledge & Experience
Experience
- Significant experience as an IT Functional Analyst in large organizations
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in direct collaboration with business stakeholders
- Experience in Non-Life underwriting insurance
Technical Expertise
Mandatory
• Experience with multi-layer applications
• Ability to contribute to functional and technical solution design
• Experience preparing and executing functional integration tests
Preferred
• Knowledge of SQL
• Understanding of technical analysis concepts
Business Knowledge
Mandatory
- Strong understanding of insurance business processes (Non-Life underwriting)
- Ability to bridge business needs and IT solutions effectively
Preferred
- Experience in Non-Life claims insurance
- Knowledge of document management systems
- Familiarity with Prince2 project methodology
- Knowledge of TMAP testing principles
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Sciences, or equivalent through experience
Languages
- English – Good professional proficiency
- Dutch or French – Fluent
