Head of Fraud and Investigations
Mission.
Support the Head of Fraud & Investigations in driving the strategic transformation of the Fraud function within a major banking group. The mission focuses on implementing target fraud operating models, enhancing predictive monitoring capabilities, leading organizational change, and ensuring alignment across IT, Risk, Compliance, and Senior Management.
Project Management & Implementation
- Take end-to-end ownership of new model rollout: scope, planning, monitoring, and risk management
- Lead change initiatives within banking (process optimization, system integrations, compliance projects)
- Act as gatekeeper ensuring strategic execution and proper prioritization
Fraud Expertise & Business Analysis
- Provide expert fraud knowledge in transaction monitoring, case management, typologies, and predictive monitoring (AI/ML, SAS, SQL, fraud detection tools)
- Conduct business analytics including root cause analyses
- Deliver advisory support to Senior Management through KPI tracking, reporting, and course correction
- Ensure regulatory insight regarding PSR, Belgian Economic Law, AML, and PSD2
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Coach and lead teams through organizational change
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with IT, Risk, Compliance, and other tribes
- Provide tailored communication for all levels (operational to C-suite)
Required profile.
- Strong implementation track record with successful delivery of operational models or process transformations
- Demonstrated leadership skills in driving team adoption
- 8–10+ years in project management within financial services/banking
- Proven success in change initiatives and operational model implementations
- Experience in fraud detection and predictive monitoring environments is a big plus
Technical Expertise
Mandatory: Expertise in transaction monitoring, case management, and fraud typologies
Preferred: Proficiency with AI/ML, SAS, SQL, and fraud detection tools; Knowledge of banking systems (core banking, fraud detection platforms)
Business Knowledge
Mandatory: Deep understanding of fraud mechanisms and data-driven risk analysis; Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks (PSR, AML, PSD2, Belgian Economic Law)
Preferred: ACFE Certification (Association of Certified Fraud Examiners)
